Club Pilot Theory

Last updated: June 11, 2025

The Club Pilot theory course provides the foundational knowledge necessary for safe and responsible paragliding. It covers four key areas:

  1. Principles of Flight: This section introduces the fundamental forces that allow us to fly – lift, drag, thrust (though less relevant for pure paragliding), and weight.

  2. Meteorology: This section equips us with the ability to understand and interpret weather information relevant to paragliding.

  3. Air Law: This section covers the rules and regulations governing paragliding in the UK.

  4. Airmanship: This section covers all the extra information you need to know to fly safely as a Club Pilot.

This theoretical knowledge, combined with practical training, will form the basis for your safe and enjoyable progression as a Club Pilot. Remember to always prioritise safety, continue learning, and seek guidance from qualified instructors.
